One of the safeguards in the LAWTRAC application is the ability to 'filter' out words and command language items from text fields so individuals cannot construct scripting commands.


This is done through the security settings administration screen.


The reason this is definable by you, the customer, is to allow flexibility.


Although this filter is designed to remove programming commands, it could also be used to remove words that are offensive. Additionally, if someone discovers that a specific set of characters can force the application or database server to do something other than what it is intended to do, those characters can be added to this list quickly; without having to reissue a complete application to all companies who use LAWTRAC.
