Sometimes those big monster outside counsel firms can have a lot of data on their tabbed listing screens to weed through. You are looking for a specific record, but it seems to be lost in all those long lists.


Try using the Search tab.


There you will find four independent search frames which will allow you to target specific areas:

1. Matter Records
2. Text Records
3. Invoices
4. Budgets

Note the options include looking at open or closed records for the matters and fiscal year present or past.


Give the targeted searching a try.

When you reply to an internal message and the message is about a specific matter you can choose to save the message as a correspondence record in the matter record.


To do this, just check Record Reply In Matter Text box.

One disadvantage of pointing to documents on a network rather than uploading them into the LAWTRAC document bank is the restriction of allowing access to outside counsel.


This is also true when you have documents checked-out for an extended period of time.


Outside counsel won't have access to your corporate drive locations nor to your computer.


Be sure to upload documents that outside counsel need access to into the LAWTRAC document bank.
