Key Personnel Application
Corporate Key Personnel have their own application within LAWTRAC.


The purpose is to allow them access to certain matter records so they can keep up with the progress of matters themselves without calling or emailing the legal department.


Access to matter records can only be granted by legal department personnel. They can be associated to matters and be blocked from seeing the matter information too.


Automatic access to matter records can also be established depending on the department he or she works for.


Key personnel can set their own preferences [A] as well as adjust their contact information. They can get the contact [B] information for individuals in the legal department.


They can review the corporate structure you've established in the application [C], view matter information [D] even have access to some reports [E] which you have granted access.


Employing the key personnel application can save your department man hours as well as bring corporate officers and others a little closer to the day-to-day activities of the legal department.

Who Are These "Key Personnel"?
The term "Key Personnel" referrers to individuals in your company but are not a part of the legal department.


These are not "Parties" (they have their own management classification).


Rather, they are the customers of the legal department.


Individuals who may be asking your department to review contracts or make employment arrangements are Key Personnel.


Your CEO, CFO or other major department manager is to be classified as "Key Personnel".


The goal is to be able to associate them to matters where necessary. Doing this will give you the ability to include them in the contract review notification system and even allow them to log onto LAWTRAC's special Key Personnel screens to review matters you have given them access too.


Imagine for a moment not getting those phone calls or responding to emails to bring someone up to date about a matter. Or even setting up a matter and associating briefs or guidance documents and giving them access to that record. The second goal of the Key Personnel module is to get your phone to ring just a few times less.

Automatic Matter Association
There may be Corporate Key Personnel who you may wish to grant access to matter records without having to go to each one and add them.


To accomplish this, edit the Key Personnel record and associate the proper Business Unit to their record.


This will allow them read only access to the matters matching the Business Unit.
